-About-
I am a western Mass native, born and raised in Leeds, where I grew up spending much of my time out in the woods, enjoying the wonders I found in the natural environment. My childhood memories include picking May Flowers with my grandma, and basking under the beauty of what is now my favorite flower, the Mountain Laurel. When I was 18, I volunteered for a year with AmeriCorps, a national volunteer program, where I traveled around the country helping with a variety of community projects, such as re-building homes destroyed by Hurricane Katerina. After returning to western Mass, I attended GCC then HCC, and transferred into Amherst College where I double majored in Fine Art and Environmental Studies. I also spent one semester studying on the island of Paros, in Greece. After college, I went on to work in the art materials industry, and have since transitioned into the green energy industry.
I have been continuously painting scenes of western Mass, while enjoying the natural beauty this area has to offer, since I was in high school. At that time, I began by painting the sparkling waters I used to swim in out in Leeds. I first started with acrylics, then transitioning to oils during college. My color palette currently includes thalo blue, ultramarine blue, titanium white, burnt sienna/umber, lemon yellow, quinacridone magenta and sometimes an outlier, such as cadmium orange.
May my paintings bring you serenity and inspiration to help further your appreciation for the beauty of the world.
